The Overweening Generalist is largely about people who like to read fat, weighty "difficult" books - or thin, profound ones - and how I/They/We stand in relation to the hyper-acceleration of digital social-media-tized culture. It is not a neo-Luddite attack on digital media; it is an attempt to negotiate with it, and to subtly make claims for the role of generalist intellectual types in the scheme of things.

Attack of the Illuminoid FNORD!!!
Can you IMAGINEwhat's going on here??? I was just playing around with Cornelius Zappencackler's Pulp-O-Mizer dealio. Pretty cool! hat-tip: BoingBoing (of course!)
This made me laugh aloud because in the Pulp-O-Mizer I use the word "FNORD" as a token to break up lines when I do word wrap! I think yours worked because it's lower case.
Thanks! I can see a hazard in this gadget: it's too fun and the whole day can go by playing around with it, and I never get the dishes done; my laundry hamper will remain to "overflow."
